They’re BUILDING !!
For those who don’t know, in 2015 we kayaked from the source of the Wabash River to the Gulf of Mexico. In hopes to not make it an entirely selfish endeavor, we decided to use the trip as a fundraiser for a woman in Uganda (we know her personally), named Josephine, who, on her own, started a place called “The Fortress.” Girls in Uganda who become pregnant out of marriage are often ostracized and put out on to the streets to fend for themselves. The Fortress takes them in; teaches them life, career, and parenting skills; and helps them get back into the acceptance of their families and communities. A noble work indeed.
Thanks to the generosity of friends, followers, and other groups around the globe, the monies raised in 2015 helped The Fortress purchase land. Thank you !
Now, they have begun building, but their funds to complete the task are far from sufficient. We plan to use our next trip to help raise funds for the building project. However, that trip continues to be delayed by current COVID health crisis. They can’t wait. They need the funds now to continue their work. Please consider supporting this good woman, her organization, and the work they do.
